First is a subject. Do you have a subject. If not, then the next thing you see is the subject of the essay.
(Sorry if you saw the movie, forget it if not) Place yourself in front of your computer. Put on your word processor. with the subject in mind type your story without editing or correcting spelling or doing any revising for half an hour.
Stop, Do the same thing again without looking at the first story you typied or using the typing anything that is the same on the second story. After half an hour, stop. Take a break.
Usually you will find the organizing principle of story in the first or second paragraph. Underline the topic sentences in the first story. Read the story and mark each paragraph as you come to a change or paragraph topic. When you come to the finally paragraph, This is the conclusion. Do the same with the second story.
Choice and combine the stories if you can. If you do not have enough material, then write another story line. Half an hour. And so on. Much will be thrown away. But what is left will be the structure of the Essay.
Write the finally essay.
Good Luck!

a good essay follows certain template
introduction
para1
para2
para3
...
...
para n
conclusion.

1 always intro and conc should agree with the same point.
2 intro should be captivating. should not bluntly state "so and so is my position, or this essay is going to talk about so and so". intro can post some questions, or statements which make the reader think, "i want to know what he/she going to say in the next para"
3 each para should conform with the main idea of the essay.
4 you can state contradicting points to ur main idea also.. but always come back to the main focus.
5 add lots of examples-personal, observed, quotes, historical incidence

Using a good OP Starter always takes the cake.
OP meaning Opening Position Statements.
If you were writing an essay about apples, you could say,
"When I think of apples, I think of delicious fruit piled up upon a tall tree."

Then I would use a good topic sentence to start off your essay such as,
"There are many kinds of apples, tastes, and smells."

So all together, that would be,
"When I think of apples, I think of delicious fruit piled upon a tall tree. There are many kinds of apples, tastes, and smells."

Using smooth transitions, such as:
first, secondly, before, after

And an ending, that re-says or re-states your OP statement in a different form is always a good ending.

The ability to organize thoughts is essential. The next most important thing is to write a strong thesis and conclusion, that clearly states your view. Also providing plenty of support for your thesis will make your essay nice and strong.
