Unfortunatly yes, and from what I understand it is worse in some areas then others. I was rasied to accept everyone and I am still shocked when I meet people who make racist comments, like my roommate in college was smart but remained a racist because her dad was... It's sad. My aunt is white and married to a black guy, they have a restraunt in North Carolina and due to the racism down there she is struggling with her business. Shes in a black community that doesn't like that shes married to a balck guy. So it goes both ways. I say, we should all love one another! Discriminate based on actions not race! But hey, not everyone is me...

Yes, it's still alive. Just witness the outbursts of celebrities! And while outloud racism from whites or blacks is shocking and disturbing, the more insidious form of racism is the unspoken kind. The one where someone "knows" you don't go into this establishment, or go to that bank because they are going to be treated differently. Or they try to rent an apartment or buy a house and they get the "You're not really wanted here" vibe. I think there has been progress, and change happens within individuals. But we're along way away from being truly enlightened.

Yes, racism is, unfortunately, still alive today and I think it's getting worse. More and more people of every race, not just Blacks and Whites, are becoming overly sensitive about things that are said about their race and/or religion. I think if everyone would just chill a little bit and stop and think before they say something stupid or obnoxious about another person, life would be a lot nicer on this old planet of ours.

as long as people are different there will be people who think that's reason enough to hate someone. if you ever get a moment, watch people when they interact with other races. you'll notice the racism. in fact you might see somethings that you do yourself, even if you don't know it. what's worse about racism now is that it's so commonplace that people don't even notice it anymore for what it is.

Racism really,in my opinion, comes from stereotypes. I think that stereotypes make people be afaird of many different races rather than show the good side of that race and how they helped the community, so my answer is yes.

Of course it still is, look at half the idoit's questions and answers on this site. People are always going to be so rude and horrible enough to duslike someone for something as STUPID as the color of skin. If you really think about it, you will see how insane it is to put someone down for that.
