The squeaky wheel gets the grease because it is the one that seems like it needs it the most. I grew up in a family where I was always the child that was focused on last, and that was because I was independent and didn't need it. My other family members needed it more than me. Along the way I was hurt emotionally because I felt as if I was ignored and unimportant. Sometimes it's not really the squeaky wheel that need the attention, it is the ones who sit in the corner are the ones that actually need the grease.

I usually ended up getting the boot instead. You need to know to know your true worth to the company you work for. Many companies think that they can always find someone else more capable and that works for less without complaining about it.My brother is currently working for a company that he refused to help train someone else for his job.It took them awhile but they found some smart-a** college kid and they're going to retire him next year.He said that they asked him to stay on as a consultant for a couple of days a week.(Sure, why not?)But that's what businesses do.Do they ever wonder why some people go postal or "Wendy's"? Many people are traumatized by being let go or fired. Sometimes they're coerced into doing something wrong by other employees.Sometimes I think that business politics are the worst kind. Many businesses should become black-balled not the employees. Soooooo, know anyone hiring?

yeah i have to go with peter on this one.. in our mainstream society, it is more cost effective, and less time consuming to just grease up the squeeky wheel than to take the time and effort to issue a little preventative maintenance.. people are lazy and look for the simplest solution to everything

Because it is hard to ignore, and it's so annoying that it is better to grease it than to put up with it.
