Well, here's the deal. I'm 18 and really feel uncomfortable talking to my mom about this stuff. I was just wondering what the average size of a vaginal hole is, considering the girl is a virgin and hasn't used a tampon or anything. I have been getting a little worried as of lately. Can any of you women see the "hole" itself, in a relaxed position? The thing is, when pressure is exerted on mine, then it slightly opens up. It also looks small. So, what's the average size supposed to be? Mine looks to be about the size of a straw, but when it stretched to that size, it begins to hurt a little. I've only recently began questioning what is "normal" and when I look down there, you basically see NO hole, but once I push against the flesh, it opens up. I can place one finger in, not comfortably, and certainly not pleasurably.

I will go to a gyno when I am 21, but right now, I am just curious. Anything is appreciated

Sounds normal. What you are looking at is the opening in your hymen. It's small, but big enough to fit a tampon. Tampons don't stretch you and if you use them properly, won't break your hymen.

There's nothing wrong with going to the gyno earlier than age 21. Some doctors recommend going at age 18 instead of waiting until 21, even if you are not sexually active.

Age 18 is not only old enough to see an OB/GYN, but recommended. It's a scary thought, but try to relax during the exam and it will not be so uncomfortable.

Your OB/GYN really is the best person to ask these questions, since s/he has studied this topic for years.

Sizes change during arousal and after you've given birth. You're not abnormal.

Your fine ! :) that is what it is supposed to look like. I would however suggest going to a Gyno now b/c most women should start getting check-up after they start thier periods

I think you should just see a gynocologist now, you are old enough and it will answer your questions...you don't have to wait until you are 21, after all there are many things that we question, but a doc will give you the right info. Good Luck.

Every woman is different! Every woman has a different size vagina/vaginal opening, so don't worry about the size of yours. Since you are a virgin and don't use tampons, your vagina has had nothing expanding it, so it is naturally going to be "tight".

everyone is individual, the opening is not really greatly visable when relaxed . when you are arroused sexually the whole thing gets slippery and larger and readies itself for entry. with your arrousal will come the pleasure part, when you are ready.

YOU ARE 18
YOU REALLY NEED TO GO TO AN OB/GYN FOR A CHECK UP
I AM IMPRESSED TO HEAR OF AN 18 YEAR OLD VIRGIN
BUT THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH THAT
I CAN NOT TELL YOU HOW BIG IT IS SUPPOSED TO BE..
TRY USING A MIRROR TO CHECK IT OUT
TALK TO YOUR MOM SHE WILL UNDERSTAND
BEST OF LUCK TO YOU
