Alot of times I feel invisible. Especially when I'm around a group of women who are dressed well. (Because they have alot of money to do so.) I like to dress nice, but conservatively and modestly. So I don't fit in to their click, or groups. When I say "Hello, and ask How are you today?", they just look at me and smile with half a smile. Then ignore me all over again.
Sometimes when I'm trying to order something at a restaurant, the waiter usually can't see my hand in the air, or hear me. Usually some prettier and younger girl gets the attention first.
I think to, that people do this to young kids as well. When my kids are asking an adult a question, they usually ignore them, until they get real loud. My kids are shy as well, so I'm teaching them how to order things for themselves, and not let others intimidate them. But it can be hard, for others also intimidate me. Only a few, but some do.

Yeah, in certain situations. Used to ensue so a lot extra commonly. Freshman 12 months (severe college) i replaced into quite a lot invisible to anybody. i'm a junior now and lots happier. i have made some associates and that i slot in extra valuable. I nevertheless experience invisible in certain situations, because i am going to be a quiet human being, and have a tendency to wander off interior the shuffle even in our tiny college. yet I basically ignore about it now and initiate talking to one in all my associates at the same time as i think that way (for the most area).

That happens to me sometimes when i'm in one of those dumpy moods and don't feel like being the starter of conversations. As long as you just sit back and listen and just answer questions I think you're always going to feel invisible. The people that start the conversations and are outgoing with their words and body language are ALWAYS noticed. If a person has to actually work to make another person join a conversation, they usually won't bother. Be more out-going, be happy, be proud to be you and talk!

Yes but I often feel that way when I try to talk rather than when I'm quiet.

It's definently normal, and I too feel invinsible quite often.
Don't worry though, you can always start conversations, or speak up a bit more.
If not, just enjoy the conversations, and have fun. It's not like they have completely forgotten about you.

Often. I had this one homeroom teacher who counted me absent when I was actually at school sitting right in front of him, twice. There were several days I missed that my friends didn't even know I was gone until lunch and we had the same classes.

Yes I do. I guess everyone does sometimes, at least it means we're humble enough to know we aren't the center of the universe.

Yes, but it's mostly my fault because I worked for years learning how not to be noticed, so when it actually happens that I want some attention it seldom happens.

Tell them what you just told me. Or you could try to be more spontaneous,out-going,enthusiastic. Step out of the box. You only live once.
