How do I put a tilde (squiggle that is above the accent mark on the keyboard by number 1) over letters like n and a using microsoft works?

Go to the top, insert, symbols, and find what one your looking for, also if you cant do that just do it in paint as an image in the same font, cut and paste it into the document...Either way works well...All depends on the fonts you have installed and so forth

Generally speaking, holding down control-shift, striking the tilde, then the n, then letting go, should work.

If not, here's the long way:

Place the cursor where you want the character to go.

Go to Start --> All Programs --> Accessories --> System Tools --> Character Map

Scroll until you find the character you want

Click on the character

Click the Select button; the character shows up in the box

Click the Copy button; it is now on your clipboard

Choose Edit --> Paste in Works.

you should have web space with your ISP (Internet service provider) if your on broadband. dial up no.

next is do a she arch on the Internet on free lessons on web page design there is lots out there or buy a book on web page design something like HTML visually it takes you through stage by stage and it is not hard to learn
