anyone who really knows true American history & understands what is really going on wouldn't be so proud of America. by the way, it isn't the candy-coated version you got in school.
freedom... hehe... yeah, almost. you get sued for breathing wrong... and oh yeah, you can't even smoke a cigarette anywhere anymore... (practically)...
yeah, i sure am glad i don't live in a communist country or one that has such extreme violence (like some African countries) but i am surely not "proud" of my country. i like it generally speaking, but proud is a big difference.

Hell no, I am not proud to be an American.... This country is sticking their noses into other countries business and causing all the turmoil around the world... And their Homeland Security stinks.. Especially when they force our elders to remove their shoes and treat them bad.... and its all because they push freedom into their faces. The United States should just focus on the problems in our own country and leave the other countries problems to the United Nations. Besides, if they hadn't allowed so many people to migrate from all over, we wouldn't be in this mess... And to tell you the truth, this country belongs to the Native Americans and should be returned to them and should leave and go back to Europe.... The USA don't even practice what they preach and should burn the Constitution... Besides if they had treated the Native Americans right maybe it would have been a nice country... But the way it's going the US is forcing this world into world war three, which could wipe out the human race as we know it.... Besides also I was forced and never asked whether I wanted to be an American and the Bureau of Indian Affairs mistreated all the natives and infected them with disease by giving them blankets and other things that they infected with the disease just to decimate them to take their land for its natural resources and so on....

As a Brazilian 'American', I am finding that AMericans are complaining about being American... AS an Immigrant, I find myself being more patriotic than Americans... I am Proud to be an American because it's a nation where everyone has the capacity to be great... you can be able to believe what you want, say what you will. Being Proud to be American is not at all terrible... Every country has the same motto... I'm Proud to be a Brazilian!...American.
As a Latin American I know that America, politically is just as bad as any other totalitarian nation. But Americans are just people... in Brazil, people just try to be people, Like all thrid-world countries... Americans try to be Americans...and set up impossible standards for themselves... Americans and everyone else need to understand this in order to go any where in life... besides the number 42. (LOL, random and awkward)

Because I have the freedom to express myself, because our men and women are brave, strong of heart, caring. The entire country is a mixture of all peoples. The land is beautiful, awe inspiring. Because I can walk out my front door and need never fear that at any moment, I could be arrested for something as insignificant as saying that I think our president is wrong. Because this is where I was born, as were many generations before me, all the way back to the Mayflower days. I am proud I can say "I am an American".

I am an Indian. I am very much proud to see the Americans that they got a chance of living in corruption free land. Our politician talk like they are sacrificing the life for the people of our country. But really people are sacrificing their life for living in the corrupt country.

I'm not particularly proud of some of the things my country has been doing lately, but America is still a fundamentally great place to live. Sure beats the hell out of North Korea anyway.

same reason anyone else is proud of where they're from, same reason highschools and colleges students are proud of theire schools, even if they do suck at every sport, it's because where ever you are, that's something to be proud of

Because I am free! I believe every American should be thankful and prayerful to all veterans past and present, for our armed forces who fight for, protect and preserve our freedom. Freedom is not "free"--someone has and will continue to pay the price for you and me.
