I am trying to find acting auditions in Alabama. I am leaving in June to go to NY to start acting and I am trying to find some auditions here before I leave. Can anyone help me??? I live in Oneonta, but any city within a reasonable distance will be fine.

It depends on what you are looking for. If you are just looking for experience, try the Theatre of Gadsden. It's community theater, and offers great experience for anyone looking to just be in a show. If you want something professional, I would look into the Alabama Shakespeare Festival.

This is the site for the alabama shakespeare festival. It is home to many respectable plays and is definantly the best theathre in AL.
Norbert Leo Butz (original Fiyero in Wicked) graduated from their acting program before moving to broadway.

Contact Summerfest in Birmngham. They have an excellent year-round theatre program taught by true professionals. They also have a superior two-week acting camp in June.
