They're listed in the third paragraph:
"He had a weak point --this Fortunato --although in other regards he was a man to be respected and even feared. He prided himself on his connoisseurship in wine. Few Italians have the true virtuoso spirit. For the most part their enthusiasm is adopted to suit the time and opportunity, to practise imposture upon the British and Austrian millionaires. In painting and gemmary, Fortunato, like his countrymen, was a quack, but in the matter of old wines he was sincere. In this respect I did not differ from him materially; --I was skilful in the Italian vintages myself, and bought largely whenever I could. "
Since you're bound to ask, "gemmary" means the study or evaluation of jewelry. Some of the other obsolete words in the story: a "pipe" in this context is a barrel about the size of a 55-gallon drum. "Nitre" is a kind of crusty, salty deposit that forms on the walls of very dark, damp caves. And "Nemo me impune lacessit" (the family motto of the Montresors -- that's the guy telling the story; Fortunato is the guy he's talking about) means "No one injures me without punishment."

he was proud, boastful, and not incredibly smart. but you should read it. if you can get past all the big words, it's a really good story.
