is that ichigo as in tokyo mew mew and yuki as in fruits basket(your username)? i agree. american cartoons suck. after discovering anime, i couldn't bear to watch the sucky american television. i can't even watch american movies or television(non-cartoons), or listen to american music(except for system of a down). anime has much more depth, it doesn't bore you most of the time, and if it's a comedy, it'll be funnier than american comedies. if it's a romance, it'll be more romantic. if it's anime, it's automatically better than american tv.

nope, i can not honestly say American cartoons are better then anime. If I had a choice between watching anime or an American cartoon in most cases I would happily chose to watch anime. I like anime alot better the american cartoons, most american cartoons are for little kids or babys where as anime it is easy to find an anime that I would enjoy watching, like Inuyasha, or Fruits Basket, or Full Metal Alcamist, and other great animes. I can`t name many american cartoon that I enjoy watching.

I gave up after Teen Titans. I was just messing around on netflix and I found a movie called Blood:The Last Vampire. After I watched the movie 10 times I wanted to see the anime I had heard about that was made it continue the movie. I found Blood+ and watched it. After that I got into Bleach and a few others. I havn't seen an amarican cartoon in 2 years.

American cartoons these days suck now. Both adult and children cartoons are so retarded - Sometimes they have stupid lines & annoying animation. (Why do you think that newer cartoons only last for like 10 weeks?) During the 90s and before (and some early 2000s), American cartoons were great, b/c they were cute, funny- (in a non-idiotic way)...
I like anime. Except, there are some anime (translated to english version ) that I don't like. Ex: Naruto. Voices suck, they delete the good stuff, etc.

What do you mean by "American cartoons"? Do you mean like Warner Bros. and Disney OR modern American cartoons such as Family Guy and King of the Hill?
But either way, your comparing apples to oranges...
America as a whole has never fully accepted animation as a classic art form. Good quality animation costs alot of money to produce in the US, so only a few big name companies can produce it (i.e. Disney). So few series are produced. And the few that are made have very little money to work with. That is why they seem cheap.
While in Japan, they struck gold when anime became popular. Companies are making loads of money from the translated series that come here. So, they have more money to spend on making more anime. There are hundreds of varieties of anime to choose from where as there are only five or six popular American series. It's easy to find something you like when you have so many choices. American series can only apeal to certain tastes.
But to agree with you, American anime is merely a poor imitation of real anime. Shows like Totally Spies and Avatar aggravate me. But aside from a few outstanding examples of really good anime series, my favorite stuff will always lie with Disney's classic movies and the Looney Tunes.

No, you can not. I think that anime is much better than american cartoons. I mean have you ever seen Naruto, Scry Ed, Inu Yasha, Full Metal Alchemist, Sailor Moon, Yu Yu Hakashu, Bleach, and Zatch Belle, they rock, and I honestly do not like american cartoons to well. You should try watching the anime above most of them are on Cartoon Notwork and adult swim(same channel), but the rest of them were cancelled, but they shouldn.t have been.

I would say that both are amazing, but anime is more artistic and creative. More people are into Japanese cartoons than American. As far as humor, however, I would say American cartoons are a bit more entertaining in general. Mostly, it depends on the cartoon. Again, it's all based on personal opinion.

A really funny, pointless animated American show: Aqua Teen Hunger Force.

Sadly, I can't honestly say that. American cartoons just don't entertain me anymore(most of it is for the kiddies). Anime is much better in my opinion, especially Bleach, Paranoia Agent, Last Exile...the list goes on and on.

It depends on what type of animation you prefer. Some of the old Warner Brothers cartoons are still funny. "What's Opera, Doc?" is very clever and entertaining.
