Parents are always the hardest to buy for aren't they?
One time my siblings and I gave my mom and dad and overnight at a nice hotel downtown (Chicago) that had a Sunday brunch with entertainment the next morning. They really enjoyed it! They said they wouldn't have spent the money for something like this, but were appreciative. (And they can't return it!). Do you have a tourist area near where you live that they could visit?

Depending on how much you have to spend, try giving them a trip. We have found some fantastic bargins on the travel areas of the web. It could be something as simple as a trip to a nearby city with tickets for a special event. If you have siblings you could pool your money for a cruise or someplace they have always wanted to go. Or just a meal at a top notch resturant. Hope this helps.

If your parents are the entertaining sort, you could get treat them to a dinner party catered by a personal chef in their area. That way they can taste some amazing food, entertain their friends and then relax and take all the credit. You could also just get them a personal chef to cook for them for a week, so they could take some time off and enjoy themselves.

If you really want to surprise them, treat them to a romantic dinner. You're parents will really appreciate it as they will be able to spend some quality time together. I'm sure they would have never thought of it, so it would be a complete surprise to them. As tokens of appreciation, you can also give them a personalized photo album complete with photos of you and them or if you are good with words, you can even write a poem about them and put it in a photo frame.

You could give them a photo of yourself in a really nice frame. Or you could try making the frame yourself, they may really appreciate the love and effort that went into making it.
