What do you think of using Train as a boy's middle name. My husband and his dad absolutely love anything to do with trains. We think it would be unique, but are unsure. Any ideas for a first name with it?

Just not Thomas Train. for the love of all things holy, do not let his name be Thomas Train.

However what about Thomas as a middle name and then he can have a fun story about how his old man liked trains but yall thought train might be a tough middle name to find a first name for so you went with the name of the most famous train of all, Thomas.

Similar idea, use Lionel as his middle name.

It's great that you want to give him a name that reflects something special to his dad and grandad, but he might get some flack for it. Maybe give him two middle names, with Train as the second middle name. Usually people only see the first middle name or the inital of it, so he'll still have Train in his name and be spared any teasing at school as well.

Is it the sound of the 'train' you like, or the idea of it? If it's the sound, perhaps re-spelling it would lessen the chances of kids making fun of the name. If it's the idea, then perhaps there is a certain kind of model train brand name, or 'fleet' name or something that could be used to represent the idea.

I like it, sort of, but I would be concerned about how your son would feel if he grew up to dislike trains. Which, chances are, there would be a MUCH higher chance of if his name was 'Train' and he had those unfortunate playground teasing experiences.

It would be awful if hubby and granddad's attempt to pass on their love of trains turned out to be the very thing that turned the boy off of them!

Good luck.

Maybe you should use that a second middle name so he can say a regular name when kids ask what his middle name is....Don't want him to get laughed at!

Try

Rolland Ty Train, Isaiah Bethlaham Train or something like that. Burlington Terrance Train or something like that!

Ok...I don't care what everyone else is saying...I think it's cute! However, I think I would spell it Trane. The traditional spelling looks just like the thing rolling down the tracks...Trane looks more like a name. I also like Carr, which someone suggested. What first name do you have picked out? That will make a big difference on weather or not the middle name will work. Good luck!!

It's important to understand exactly what needs to be done and in what order to have your child fully potty trained. Check out this method http://pottytraining.toptips.org

I think that anything goes for a middle name. If the child likes it and thinks it is cool he can let people know what it is. If he hates it he can go with T. I grew up with a lot of girls with the middle name Louise or Lou and they always just used their middle initial.

How about:

Benjamin Train
Alexander Train
Gavyn Train
Tyler Train
Josiah Train
William Train (nn Wills)
Joshua Train
Isaac Train

Let us know what you decide!

I think that's a very unique idea, and thank God you have enough sense not to make it his first name. I like the sound of Dylan Train....Garreth Train...something along those lines.

Good Luck!

You're taking a chance but most people don't go around talking about their middle names so he may not get teased unless someone finds out what his middle name is. How about

Terrance
Marcus
Cole
