Because they have been poorly managed for the last decade. The young players aka Spice boys were not footballers but party animals with some football skills but lots of ill-discipline.
The Spanish manager and players connection brings new hope but Chelsea and Man U has brought the EPL to another level.

Simply because each team have their own times. Before Liverpool have our glory days in the 70s and 80s we're in League Two until Shankly and his famous Backroom staff set the standard although it's during Paisley time Liverpool have the glory days.

Graeme Sounnes was a fine player let's remember him that way as not all good players can be great manager too. Houllier was not bad but what he has accomplished wasnot enough for Liverpool. Some says Liverpool was lucky to have Benitez, and he bring Liverpool to another standard. The man who can bring Champions League Cup at his first season surely capable enough to bring Premiership title back to Anfield. Just wait and see. We don't need Abrahamovic or other richs tsar with their capitals to get that thropy :D

If you go back to to the early 90's then managers we have had were'nt chosen correctly. man u and arsenal have had stable management for a while wehere Liverpool have bounced through a load. Combined with lack of funds to buy som serious artillery. It leaves us coming quite short in the league.

However, Benitez is wute an atute manager and I can't see him leaving for a while. With Moyes selling his shares off it will help generate the money needed. Plus a new stadium will definatly help.

Time heals quite well and perhaps next season a decent challenge will come about. You'll never walk alone!

because the system laid down by the late great bill shankley was ignored by kenny dagliesh he let the great team he inherited grow old and made some poor buys.couldn't handle the pressure and left. then came souness who made more bad buys and in my opinion that is where the liverpool dominance ended because they have never been able to get back in the groove even when they had the spice boys.

because if it isn't Wenger and Henry's Arsenal, it's Fergie's ManU, if not it's Roman and José's Chelsea. And Liverpool are never at the level of these teams when these teams were at their top.

They have not had a good enough manager in all that time and the managers they do get simply do not buy good enough players, are getting closer though.
