Asside from 'Wii-Elbow', no. None that I've heard of at all.

Mine works fine, too.

If there were anything major.. or even moderate.. you can bet the PS3 and 360 kids would make sure we never forgot about it either, so I'd say you're safe.

"I have actually heard of a lot of them.
One major one is that when some people try to access the internet on the Wii, it doesn't work, and all they get is an error code."

That's not a defect and most often it's a general networking issue. I got one of those codes myself, checked it on the Nintendo website and fixed it. Took an hour tops. I wish the laptop had gone that easy. There's a lot of good information on Nintendo.com's Customer Service. I even got all the information about my router that I couldn't remember and couldn't find off it.

I had to change the channel my router recived on and it worked like a charm.

I have actually heard of a lot of them.
One major one is that when some people try to access the internet on the Wii, it doesn't work, and all they get is an error code.
Some of the Wiis don't move the discs and some just stop working.
I hear from people who own Wiis that the Nintendo phones lines are filled up.

I am amazed that there were almost no reports of broken PS3s, even though there were less than half PS3s released in the U.S. compared to the figures of Wiis. The best bet to get a non faulty system would be the 360 or PS3.

Pssh, Wii-elbow...
You don't really have to swing the tennis ball as if your life was dependent on it.
You don't really have to swing the bat as if you were being assaulted.
You don't really have to pitch the baseball as if you'd--- you get the point.
There are some reports of broken wrist straps. However, simple wrist motions will be enough. Wear the wrist strap, don't swing/throw too hard, and obviously clean your hands before you eat (because of greasy hands.)
I also I heard about error reports. Most people have that problem because they do something while the Wii is updating. Just don't turn off the Wii while updating, obviously.
