To find it you need to basically go through the whole mansion and use the Abra statues to switch around all the walls. Its not too bad, first thing to do, go upstairs, switch on the abra statue, go up and in the top left corner there should be another set of stairs, take these up to the 3rd floor.

On the 3rd floor there are 2 ledges, both lead to the first floor, but only the Left-side ledge leads to where you want to go, take that one and you'll be back on the 1st floor in a different room than where you began, there should be some stairs around that go down to the basement, go down to the basement, flip the only switch down their and follow the long path(that starts out closed until you flip the switch) and at the end of it there will be the mansion key.

If you need more specific help this is an exact walkthrough of the whole mansion:
http://db.gamefaqs.com/portable/gameboy/file/pokemon_w.txt
when you follow the link hit "Ctrl-F" and type "POKeMON MANSION Wild" hit "Enter" and it will take you to the part of the page where the walkthrough for the mansion is.

Good Luck!

The key to the Cinnabar Gym is in the Pokemon Mansion on Cinnabar Island--but it's in the basement. To get to the basement, you'll need to manipulate the trick doors by hitting the switch located on the Pokemon statues. Flip the switches to move the panels and make your way to the third floor; once there you'll find a guy who tells you that if you're stuck you should jump off the edge. Walk up the edge (it looks kind of like a wall to the bottom of the screen) and you'll drop back down to a part of the first floor that was previously inaccessible. Walk to the right and you should find a set of stairs that take you to the basement.

There are more of the door switch puzzles to figure out but the key is in the very last room of the basement. Make sure that you've got a couple of good Pokemon with you--the wild Pokemon in the basement are a bit stronger than in the rest of the Mansion and encounter rates are higher, too.

Ignore the asshole above me. The abandoned masion has the key. To get the key on the second floor flip the switch, then go back downstairs. Behind the stairs is another switch. Then go through the barrier thingys on the second floor and flip another switch. There should be a staircase on the southeastern corner to go down there. The key is there. After that, leave the mansion and kick Blaine's a-- you get the picture.

hrm, it's "bear" not "bare".

Well, if I recall correctly, the key can by obtained after going through the entire mansion from a person to the left right before the exit (which should be a ledge leading back outside).
