Dont be so far back in the closet that you are in Narnia!! Why should you have to live your life hiding behind what you really are? What it is to be homosexual is not about being feminine and camp. Too many people compartmentalise certain people into stereotypes. Homosexual men come in all shapes and sizes, some are as camp as a pink row of tents, and some are masculine, whilst some are a combination of the two. You only have to go to a few gay nightclubs to work that out for yourself. You should not confine yourself to an 'image.' Be what you want to be. At the end of the day, 'The people that matter dont mind, and the people that mind dont matter.'
Here are the words to Gloria Gaynor's song, I am what I am. They really do say it all!!!!

I am what I am
I am my own special creation,
So come take a look, give me the hook or the ovation.
Its my world that I want to have a little pride in,
My world and its not a place I have to hide in.
Life’s not worth a damn till you can say: I am what I am.

I am what I am
I don’t want praise I don’t want pity,
I bang my own drum, some think its noise I think its pretty.
And so what if I love each sparkle and each bangle,
Why not to see things from a different angle.
Your life is a sham till you can shout out: I am what I am.

I am what I am
And what I am needs no excuses,
I deal my own deck sometimes the ace sometimes the deuces,
Its one life and theres no return and no deposit,
One life so its time to open up your closet.
Lifes not worth a damn till you can shout out: I am what I am!!!!!

I think you're having us on!
But, if this is a genuine question then just be yourself and don't keep giving people the wrong impression. For example, if asked, do you have a girlfriend, say 'no', I have a boyfriend. People will quickly catch on. You don't have to make a big song and dance about coming out. Also, the fact that you are macho doesn't make you straight or gay. Everyone is different. Not all gays are mincing queens you know.

Dahling!

I'm such an outRAgeous lipstick lesbian that my gay men friends decided I was a drag-queen, trapped in a female body! ROFLMTO

Closets are for clothes. I don't have enough closet-space. Now, get OUT, and STAY out. This is 2006, luv!

We're here. We're queer. We're FAHbulous. Get USED to it!

The pink poodle thing might work for me... but I'm allergic to dogs.

'This above all, to thine own self be true,
and it must follow, as the night the day,
thou canst not then be false to any man'
- Polonius' Speech, 'Hamlet'
Wm. Shakespeare

One of my many favourite quotations-to-live-by.

If you're comfortable about telling your friends then do so, it will certainly shut them up for a second! You might even feel better that you finally got it off your chest and can start being yourself. This isn't the 1940's where you have to be a certain way - people are more tolerant and understanding nowadays, although there are still a few d*ckheads out there. Good luck, just be happy.

I dont know about the pink poodle, but I would think about coming out. Don't do it until you are ready and feel your friends and family can handle it. There are a lot of things you will have to deal with when you do, so be prepared.

I had a friend who when I told him I was gay said,"you can't be, you're 6'2" play rugby and drink the most beer in the rugby club"........w t f.

You can still be masculine and gay. Personally I'd ditch the Pink Poodle and get a Rottweiler with a bandanna wrapped around his neck, and call him Butch.

Have fun.

You could,,,but it's too small a space to keep a poodle in. Try hanging him on a coat rack until your ready to exit. And don't mention men and women to it, it's going to be mighty pissed=off with jealousy. Any way, why a poodle? when seems to me that a donkey like you needs an @ss for petting?!!?
