Well one area would be in trade agreements, we could improve these by using our buying might to persuade other nations to adopt a level playing field by demanding a living wage and rights for workers over sea, we'd wouldn't lose as many jobs and we would actually be helping to create a middle class in those countries that can afford to consume the goods they make and the ones we make for export to their nation, this is somewhat of a human rights issue that we should make mandatory before entering into these agreements

also to the answer above that says we already are do you know what a trade deficit is and how large our is with other nations? that's way off

1) Fix Healthcare it is the cost of healthcare that is driving good paying jobs overseas, companies cant afford to pay benefits when they cost 15k a year

2) Get rid of Nafta its never worked it never will
and get rid of Wallmart they wont sell products made in the US only stuff made by slave labor

3) Do something with the budget for Gods sake
The Fed Govt overspends its buget by over a billion dollars a day

4) enforce our trade aggreements
From 1983 to 1994 the Jappanese outproduced us in cars trucks and buses made and sold. We were buying their products but they wernt buying ours even tho we were superior in many products
(Telecom equip, PC and super computers, software ect ect ect
Bell Labs in NJ has won more Nobel Prizes then any country)
Clinton threatened a 100% tarrif on Jap luxury cars and they buckled and started playing fair
Its one of the reasons that Toyota and Nissan have factories all over the US and Canada now and from 96 to 02 we outproduced them

5)Look at companies that work in the USA
New Balance Shoes makes half their sneakers in the USA
its great product and they make money

6) one extra if your gonna give tax breaks give them to companies that put Americans to work we have lost Americas manufacturing base
Nowdays we let huge companies like TYCO incorparate overseas, we PAY the Oil companies over 5 bil a year in tax breaks for what? 3$ a gallon gas, and Walmart forces companies go overseas to hire workers at 25 cents an hour

Let America be the way it has been before all the illegals came in and ruined our workplaces because they will not learn English, taken all the jobs Americans think they are too good to do and imposed their ways of life by setting up ghetto spots everywhere.

The biggest thing we have to do is start making more stuff.

We used to have a HUGE manufacturing base to our economy. It is now shifting to be largely service based. That will not be sustainable for ever. Before long China will be kicking our butts because we don't make anything and they make everything.

Shipping our manufacturing jobs overseas my give us cheaper good today, but in the long run it will bit us in the ***.
