In today's world, with movies, television and Music Videos, I'm actually glad to see that a 14 year old could retain some innocence. That's a real good thing.
Okay, but to answer your questions:
1) Yeah, they probably should have, but they too are young. If they are really your good friends, and you trust them, make a pact with them that you will each over each other's back, and share the knowledge.
2) Like I said, they too are young. Sometimes, friends don't think things are that serious. You are over thinking this.
3) Tell them to stop laughing at you and see #1 above.
4) I gotta admit, you're parent's response wasn't the best, but I know what they were trying to say. They are right on point though, you ARE a smart girl and that will carry you thru.

My advise, Don't rush the answer. Enjoy your friends, stop OVER THINKING this stuff, and go hug your parents.

Oh, and stop eating those funny shaped hot dogs.
-enjoy.

I was brought up in a strict religious atmosphere and I was kept in the dark about things while I was a teen, too. When you approached your parents about a sexual term, you should have been told what it was in straightforward, yet tasteful terms and your parents should not have fought over who told you about it and belittled you for not having common sense. This was a blow to your self esteem and causes you to put up a wall against the two most important people that you need guidance from during the most vulnerable time in your life. However, since you have stated that you are a 14 year old girl and I happen to be a 34 year old guy (and a stranger on the net), I do not think that I should be the one to explain this to you. As your friends and classmates at school have not been too helpful to you (and are not always the best source of information), I suggest that you go to your school counselor and they will either tactfully answer your questions, or they will refer you to someone licensed and qualified who will. I hope that you will get the answers that you need from them.

1) Yes they should have told you -- but they weren't wrong for hesitating to tell you, though.

2) I'm guessing they didn't tell you because boners and all is still a taboo subject, and you girls are still young, so it's understandable why they don't tell you.

3) Not telling you what certain words won't determine whether or not they're really your friends. They probably don't tell you because they're all too shy to talk about it. They probably laugh, well, maybe it's out of nervousness of talking about it. But whatever the reason is, I wouldn't worry about it.

4) I guess your parents call it common sense with so much sex and all the sex talk in the media these days. They're probably surprised that it didn't get to you yet.

5) There's too much to be explained about the subject... perhaps you should google it up?

anyway.. I hope that was useful, though what I wrote was all gibberish...

Good luck! :O)

Sweetie, do't sweat it. I remember those day. My parents were very over-protective and I was not wise to the ways of the world. Well, I am 31 now and I am a bit wiser. I have a young daughter myself and I dread the time, when her friends act like they know everything and try to tell her nonsense!!!!!!
My dear, your friends are silly. I am sure they are talking a big game and are just about as inexperienced as you are. I males penis looks nothing like a hotdog. I am sure you have seen pics and diagrams in your health book. If not, go to Barnes and Noble and look at some more detailed Health books.
And if your friends say something silly when you have a Hotdog again, tell them that if their boyfriends penis looks like a freakn hotdog when he is aroused, then something is wrong with him and maybe if they are as experienced as they say they are, then they may need to go visit the school nurse..And then tell them that you've heard penecillin may cure what they caught..Good Luck and don't feel bad. I was a late learner and developer but now while mosat of my froiends are divorced and remarried a time or two, I am educated and happy. And most of the girls who talked like your friends did when I was in school, now, are plain white trash. Don't let their stupidness get to you

I can't believe at your age you are so naive. I don't think you are as clueless as you act.

If you have all been friends since middle school, how is it they know what it is and you don't?

I can't understand what you wrote about your parents. You make them sound like they are un- caring and that they expect that you should already know these things.

Your question" #5) Can any tell me the truth about anything about that subject?? Please" I quoted it so you can re-read what you wrote...WHAT GRADE ARE YOU IN????

If you really are not educated on sex, you better hurry and seek it or you will find yourself pregnant. I can see you writing I THOUGHT I COULD ONLY GET PREGNANT IF HE BLEW IN MY EAR!

They would have been nice to tell you. They probably thought you were a little immature. They are you friends, and it will get better as far as the subject goes as you learn more...go online and Google stuff you don't know...just don't get caught by your parents...odd questions would come up. Your parents were really cool, to tell you, cuz mine are so uptight. It is a bit strange though that I had to educate most of my friends about sex and related issues. You should ask them (your friends) to not make fun of you, and tell them its not your fault that you're sexually repressed...hope you have fun learning...it's all part of growing up.

You should go to your mother (since you are a girl), and ask her to have the SEX talk with you. Also don't let the fact that your friends joke about it upset you they are probably just as clueless as you. When you talk to your mother have several questions that you want to know about in mind.
Don't talk to your father (unless you have too), men get very uncomfortable when their 14 year old daughters start wondering about sex.

it sounds like they're just trying to gloat that they know and you don't, or they don't know and they're just messing with you. A ***** is another term for when a dude gets an erection. Its not an easy topic to talk about for some reason, people get really nervous about it... don't take it too seriously, at that age sex is just a mystery to most everyone.

not everybody knows everything about a certain subject. they think its funny because you did not know what a certain term meant. well, now you know. some day i bet you will use a term that they don't know and then you can laugh at them!!!
