I had a colposcopy about 2 weeks about and didn't really have much discomfort afterwards. My period was due on Monday and still hasn't come then yesterday I went to the bathroom and noticed some dark brown discharge in my underwear and I have been spotting brown discharge off and on only when I wipe since yesterday. My doctor said it could be old blood from the biospy or it could possibly be a sign of pregnancy since I'm late. My question is, have any of you spotted brown two weeks after a colposcopy? Also, have you ever heard of brown spotting being a sign if pregnancy? I also took a pregnancy test but it came back negative. My doctor said it could have been too soon and to wait until my period is a week late. I just wanted to see if I was alone on any of this. Thanks!

Usually no blood after that long after a colonoscopy but, not unheard of. Also, the Dr. is right. Give it time. your body hasn't had time to build up pregnancy hormones yet. Give it a while. Also, another possibility is you are just a little late and having a little problem because of stress and you may not be pregnant either. Time will tell. If you are wanting a baby I hope you are . I had brown spotting for a few days following the procedure, but never that late.. but then again every woman's body is different. Your period could be delaying itself if you were really stressed (maybe about having the colposcopy done or waiting for results?) so it could be showing up slightly. Either way, i would get a pregnancy test done just in case!

i had a light period my first month of pregnancy but it wasnt brown.
