First of all, he's probably worried a little already, that's normal, but trying to reassure you. Glad you're still happy together by the way.
Labor is different for everyone and yes it's painful, but don't listen to everyone's horror stories. Being afraid will only make it worse. Keep in mind that there are TONS of options for pain management during labor and delivery. I had an epidural and was completely numb from the waist down. Easy as pie.
Life will never be the same again, it will be better. You will both still get to live a little, and when you get home there will be a georgeous baby there for you to enjoy. If you're already in as good shape as you sound like you are, then the chances are that you'll get your bod back easy.

IT IS NOT WRONG TO BE AFRAID OF CHILDBIRTH. Everyone is, don't let them fool you. Just go into it prepared, read about it, study breathing techniques, whatever works for you. I'm very sorry about what happened to your friend. Just remember that things like that don't usually happen.

Good luck!!!

Hi. It is amazing how much you sound just like I did when I was 19. I had my 1st child at 19, i was also a gymnast, and the same height/weight as you. I know that everyone experiences different things throughout pregnancy and after. It sounds like you are in good health and take care of yourself. Healthy eating and exercise are good while you're pregnant and it is easier to get your toned body back if you do those things while pregnant. You will probably have all kinds of worries along the way, and also some of the greatest milestones of your entire life. Labor is different for everyone. For me labor was not terrible, nor all that painful. (I now have two children) You do have options for drugs to ease labor pains. Everything will be different for the rest of your life. You will have another human being depending on you solely for everything, but that does not mean that you can't go out, have friends, go to school, work, or things like that. It is not wrong to fear death from childbirth. That was my biggest fear throughout both pregnancies--honest. Did your friend have complications with her pregnancy? Is there a history of that in your family? Do you have risks for that because of certain health problems? It is definatley something you should talk to your doctor about. My doc made me feel a ton better. I wish you the best! =)

Labor isn't that bad. If you're worried about it get an epidural and most likely you'll have little or no pain. By the end of your pregnancey you'll be very ready to have the baby and look forward to labor, but it's not easy either. And having a baby does change everything. You're freedom is limited and you'll have a great deal more of responsibilty. You'll also have to grow up faster then your friends, and may even lose some, but that all comes with having a baby, but if you have a good family they'll help you out and you should still get to keep some "freedom".
Sense your so young, most likely you'll get your body back shortly after having the baby...but most likely you'll have to work at it like everyone else.
