With my 2ND and 3rd baby I had to have the antibiotics for the group b strep. With my 2ND didn't get the results back before I had to have him (36 weeks) so I had to have the antibiotics. With my 3rd we found out I had it. No biggy, I just had to have 2 doses of the antibiotic before she was born. And my labor was only 3 1/2 hours. She is perfect. We are currently pregnant again and I am not worried. With or without it, I am good. The doctor will take care of you so that you and the baby come out fine. Congrats on the baby BTW.

my little sister had it and all they do is give you antibiotics when you go into labor so the virus doesnt pass onto the baby.its harmless otherwise.i wouldnt worry it can only hurt the baby once youre in labor so just make sure you get to the hospital in time to get the meds before you have the baby.good luck and stop worrying youll be doing enough of that when the baby gets here!!

Strep B is common in about 1 of 3 women. Take the strep B shot before the end of your delivery. everything will be fine. My sister in law did not take it and my nephew had meningitis 2 weeks after he was born....get the shot, your OBGYN should have informed you.

Yeah you just need to have the anti-biotics before you deliver. I had it with baby #2 and she came out fine. Make sure you get the anti-biotics though. My doctor told me that the body usually fights it on it's own however, you MUST have the anti-biotics when you're pregnant. I haven't researched it and didn't at the time either but good for you for doing so.

I have never had it, but my friend has had it twice. All they do is hook up antibiotics to your IV when you go into labor. That will take care of it all and everything will be ok.

Oh my are you pregnant? That is very very dangerous to the baby!!!! It can cause severe retardation; blindness and many other things if ignored. Here's a link go read more and ask every doctor you talk to about it. It's so dangerous.
