Actually both of the articles are correct--but only half correct. You know, even the Gregory calendar is not 100% accurate. The Sun's movements through the Signs do not correspond with the calendar. It also depends on year of birth, on your hour and minute of birth, and and also city and country of birth because of the different time zones. Therefore, you are encouraged to try a free sample Personal Astrology Profile to determine your true Sign. No matter if you are a Virgo or a Libra, you are undoubtly a Virgo cusp Libra. Persons born "on the line" between two Zodiac Signs partake of qualities found in both Signs or, more strictly speaking, have a blend of traits that may compose an individual nature. Due to variations in astrological calendars, this may became apparent during the last few days of a departing Sign, but the "cusp" (as it is termed) pertains chiefly to the first week of the incoming Sign. While the new Sign is gaining its ascendancy, the influences of the old will persist but gradually loses its hold day-by-day until, by the seventh day, the new Sign is in complete control.
Virgo cusp Libra
September 21 to 29
Individuals born on the cusp of Virgo (the sixth Sign of the Zodiac) and Libra (the seventh Sign of the Zodiac) are ruled by both Mercury and Venus. These cuspians have a shrewd and analytical nature coupled with sharp perception. In general, it is a fine combination which provides the Libra side of this character the elements most needed. However, these individuals need to guard against the inherent faults which come with Mercury if they would avoid injury to the softer and more understanding qualities associated with Venus. Here, the Libra sense of judgment is coupled with a quick talent to size up a situation and back a decision with sound logic. Any trivialities should be avoided as minor issues are prone to worry these cuspians...particularly regarding what others might think or do. Nonetheless, the logic associated with this cusp will enable its subjects to modify judgment in light of later facts. Fortunately, the natural tendency for these individuals is toward self-criticism in minor matters, which keeps them quite steadfast where more important things are ast stake. If efforts are sysstematized in big directions, then these natives will automatically overcome lesser complications..

The Virgo/Libra cusp combination, also known as the Cusp of Beauty, corresponds symbolically to the period of human life at around the age of forty-two, a time when crossroads are often encountered in life...perhaps involving health or cosmetic treatments, or a search to identify or associate with those who possess youth and physical attractiveness. However, some Virgo/Libra cuspians are able to discover a new and more mature ideal later in life which will likely prove to be both profound and enduring. Natives of this cusp are fatally taken up with the pursuit of an ideal. Attracted to beauty which is physical and sensuous (whether in art objects, nature or people), these individuals are lured by color, shape, form, texture and the intriguing sound of music. These are all "emotional buttons" to the Virgo/Libra subject, resulting in creative inspiration. Extremely sensitive to external stimuli, these souls react strongly to unusual tastes and aromas. They are also easily jarred by disturbing sights and sounds. In short, these natives born on the Cusp of Beauty must create a highly aesthetic environment in which to live and work. Those governed by this cusp pride themselves on being up-to-date and aware of the latest trends in fashion, art and technology. Although others may view these interests as being merely "trendy," there can be no denying that the taste of these natives can be exceedingly valuable to the organizations with which they are affiliated...to say nothing of the information they have to offer. Virgo/Libra cuspians often possess excellent executive, marketing and managment skills. Here, the inherent sixth sense for current development in their fields stands them in good stead.

By virtue of their interest in the outward appearances of the physical world, these individuals are frequently perceived as being superficial and "glitzy." However, sooner or later in their lives, they will have to address spiritual matters since they usually discover, at some point, that their love of externals is an inadequate preparation for the more unpleasant yet inevitable aspects of life...disease, accidents and death, for example. Often, these cuspians encounter one of these areas totally unprepared and then suffer feelings of inadequacy and bewilderment, resulting in the desire to dig a little deeper beneath the surfaces of existence. As companions, these natives are pure fun. Imaginative and free-spirited with a happy disposition, they bring life to any gathering and win many friends. However, those governed by this cusp combination also harbor an emotional dark side with which their acquaintances and partners will be obliged to cope. In times of financial stress or emotional turmoil, addictive tendencies may surface in these natives. Indeed, these individuals are prone to turn to drugs and alcohol rather than encounter and overcome the vicissitudes of life head-on. It is here, in particular, that the inherent sensuous nature can be at its most self-destructive. This is a cusp combination that must beware lest the healthy expression of sexuality be sublimated into neurotic and possessive drives...usually in an attempt to flee from reality.

The most successful Virgo/Libra natives maintain their "common touch" and never forget their origins, no matter how humble those origins might have been. Nevertheless, there is a tendency here for these cuspians to isolate themselves in something of an "ivory tower" situation, resulting in them becoming increasingly distanced from the more basic aspects of their fellow human beings. This can work at cross-purposes with the inherent ability to keep abreast of public taste, thus undermining the usefulness of these individuals. In exreme cases, such natives may become snobbish and elitist, associating only with those they feel are worthy of their attentions, or through whose influence they can advance socially. Generally speaking, however, these are enthusiastic, impulsive and utterly unselfish souls who display great kindess of manner and speech. Warm-hearted, deep and sincere in affairs of a romantic nature, the marriages of these cuspians are unfortunately not always happy...yet being broad-minded, they usually make the best of circumstances. Playful and devoted in love, these are souls who love order and harmony above all else.

The inherent artistic talent of this cusp combination is manifested in many ways. Indeed, some very famous and successful designers of ladies' wearing apparel have been natives of the Virgo/Libra blend, as well as capable and competent artists in other areas. The arts are of great interest to these natives and they acquire proficiency in such pursuits when they devote their energies in those directions. Invariably highly-strung, subjects of this cusp are liable to suffer from disorders of the stomach, nerves and bowels.

The greatest strength of Virgo/Libra cuspians is to be found in their attention to detail and their desire to be of service. They pick up on the little things that most others might miss while their drive for peace and harmony, coupled with their ability to obtain balance and cooperation from a disparate group, is unparalleled. Indeed, the skill of these natives to be able to see all sides of a situation makes them one of the most just and fair characters of the Zodiac.

The most important lesson to be learned by Virgo/Libra natives is to strive for balance while curbing the tendency to become fickle and indecisive. As with all cusp individuals, these cuspians tend to be attracted to others born on the cusp...particularly those who fall within the Capricorn/Aquarius and Aries/Taurus combinations.

Your a Libra, no doubt about it. Maybe you other things in your chart that contradict your libra nature. Now you are a cusp, so you will inherently have certain qualities from both. While I DO believe in astrology(personality wise), I will tell you to try not to look at astrology is Fixed. You are this or that and that is the way it has to be. My best friend is a Capricorn and he doesn't act anything like a Cap and there is nothing in his chart to contradict his sun sign. So, instead of seeing personality astrology as "one-way", try to see it as a guide rather than that it has to be "this way or that way". More often than not if you see a libra, then they will act like one and that is the way it is MOST OF THE TIME, not always. Your a Libra and part Virgo, be proud! You're two people in one(cusp).

The dates can vary by as much as 2 days, from year to year, depending on the cycle of leap years, and the precession of the perihelion of the Earth's orbit over many centuries.

Usually, September 23 is a Virgo, but the preceding sentence explains slightly why it may be either. It is from the article in the area below.

The cusp on any sign is typically 20th, 21st, and 22nd, and the 21st is used as the last day of that sign. I am on the cusp of Sagittarius and Capricorn. Happy Birthday to me on December 21.

I have seen, though rare, some that stretch to the 23rd, not sure why. I would say September 23 is Libra.

It depends on the year that you were born - because of leap year and a few other things - a good astrology book can tell you which year the cusp is on the 22nd and which year it's on the 23rd.
