If the Iraqis do not really take responsibility for their safety (and quit aligning themselves with militias)? You'll get a country that harbors terrorists. And a less safe America.
On the same token, Osama Bin Ladin called for a fatwa against America because we built bases in "holy land", so there is no right answer. We stay we lose, we leave we lose.
Moral of the story?
Don't start wars with countries that have little or nothing to do with terrorism, because then people use that as a rallying cry to recruit more terrorists (read the NIE).

The same thing as is happening with the US troops there, but a bit worse.
The country is in full anarchy at this time. There is lawless and no one is able to control the fighting on any side.
When the US leaves it Will grow a bit worse and it can spread to the countries bordering Iraq.
When the US leaves our media will begin to print stories that you have not seen to date. It does not mean that those things were not happening now. It means that the media will no longer hold back on the truth.
When you read those stories, don't forget you heard it from me first.

Most likely Iran and Syria will dictate the outcome. Both have an interest in seeing that Iraq is made over in their image. It will probably become a conservative Muslim state.

It will result in an internal struggle for power. The ultimate prize for the victor will be getting their hands on the country's oil industry (and the resulting revenue).
Does anyone think Al Queda (or other Islamic extremists groups) would like to get their hands on that kind of cash flow?

I believe after the U.S. leave the country will fall apart... The problem is religion... Sunni's and Shi'ites don't get along... THe Shi'ite majority was oppressed by the Iraqi regime of Saddam Hussein who was Sunni ... The Sunni's want power but hte Majority is Shi'ite... so violence is their solution... Sad.

If the US leaves now, the radical Islams will claim the victory.
They will be encouraged that Allah is with them, and they will not be stopped without never before seen carnage.

They will survive. They are a prolific group. Sometimes it is necessary to re-populate when necessary. It appears NOW is when it is necessary.

The civil war will continue. Oops - I mean the state of pre-civil war will continue. Sorry about that.
