I'm looking to possibly set up a wireless/ethernet network in my house. Currently we have two computers networked together sharing a cable internet connection via an ethernet router. I recently got a macbook pro with built-in wireless, and it looks like we'll be getting a nintendo wii soon, which also works wirelessly with the internet. Neither should require any extra equiptment if I get the right router, right? Aren't there routers with ethernet ports that also serve internet to wireless-ready devices in the house? I hope this made sense. If you need any more info, just ask! Thanks so much!

What you need is a Wireless Router. There are a few brands you can consider. I personally have purchased and hooked up Lynksys and Buffalo wireless routers on two different networks in the past. I've gotta say, my favorite is the Buffalo because it's costs less and it's been more reliable.

Yes. Currently, I have a step by step setup for the Linksys Wireless Router (which has 4 ethernet ports and supports a 54mbps wireless b/g connection). It's called the WRT54G. If you go to http://VectorXinc.com//YaBB.pl?num=1164870423, you can buy that router (I have it and I recommend it). You can go there and set it up.

your best bet if your going wireless is to go for the D-link wireless router and keep the computers Ethernet cabled to the wireless router... cable is faster than wireless and more stable, plus you would need to have one of the computers wired to the router anyway to set your router up so it's better to have both computers Ethernet wired ... you should have no problems with the mac. picking up the signal

and don't let anyone near by know your going wireless are they will buy equipment and use your wireless network for free taking up your band width
BTW D-Link have great support system 24/7 52 I can rec amend it
hope this helps

What you need is something similar to what is shown below. You don't have to go with Linksys, as several other companies make them too. Take a look at Netgear, D-Link and Belkin too. Personally, I prefer Linksys.

I agree with the redsoxer.

BTW, the WRT54G is a great router that does everything you are talking about.
