I just bought a book called "Discovering the Power of Self-Hypnosis" by Stanley Fisher, Ph.D
Haven't even started reading it though! Hope this helps :)
EDIT: sorry just found out you said free, I'd try a search on yahoo as internet would be your best bet.

this would be someone-friendly false impression. it particularly is impossible to be hypnotised. it is your option to close your eyes and experience what could be defined as a "hypnotic state" i'd propose reckoning on the reason fo staring at "self hypnosis" is try NLP (neuro linguistic programming) each and all the very superb and robust luck

although not free why not go on ebay and look under Psychology, there is a wealth of material there, I bought some books and cds and it was well worth the bidding. good luck
