My sister in law is a mean cold b-t-h. She has one right now and if i know her she will not be able to make her time without going out drinking and driving. How do they work ? How are authorties alerted when you remove it ? Can she remove it ?

Your sister in law has only one option to remove it: cut the band. When that happens the agency is alerted and usually has a warrant issued for her arrest. She won't get off so lightly next time. A signal goes from the band to the box on the phone. It calls the computer monitoring her tether. Her PO is alerted and she is arrested. Don't worry, she will pay the consequence for her behavior. The stories you have heard about slipping it off are all false.

The device is a low frequency transmitter that has a base unit in the home location. the base unit is hookup to land line. so if the base unit dose not receive the signal from the ankle device it sends a call to the issuing authority and the man is on is way to see were you are. The police do not pay for the unit you have to rent it an it's not cheep.

a box is hooked into a phone line and as soon as the person with the bracelet leaves the vicinity of the box it sends a signal to the authorities (through the phone line) to report it. the bracelet has wires running all the way through the band that also set off the box if the circuit is broken, virtually impossible to remove. its not gps by the way... its not trackeable, police cant afford that type of equipment. it just alerts them as soon as the bracelet leaves the boxes vicinity

She can't remove it. Only the cops can (or the court). It's a tracking device that will send a signal if she goes over X amount of feet from her house.

she wont be able to leave the house, and she cant remove it without being caught eventually unless shes way smarter than the electronics, and i doubt that shes all that bright, its electronic its like having a gps device in your car only its on your ankle.

You can take it off by heating it with a hairdryer and stretching it.
At least thats what my friend did. Why not just plant some dope in her house and narc on her if you hate her that much?
