Abraham Lincoln was arguably one of the greatest orators in American History. He was the President during the American Civil War from 1860-1864. Credited with the freeing of the slaves through his Emancipation Proclamation of 1863. Died of a gunshot wound at the Ford Theater by John Wilkes Booth, an actor on April 15, 1865 after being elected to his second term in office.
