It will depend on the airline and the class of seating that you're flying. For most airlines, economy class can check two (2) items weighing less than 70 lbs and have one (1) carry on.

You can only bring 2-50pounds from US to Vietnam (plus the carry on), but 2-70pounds from Vietnam back to US. The new rule applied earlier this year to all US point of origin. Have fun

Depends on what airline you are flying. I believe it is 32 kilograms in checked baggage, 5 kgms in carry on, plus an item like a laptop computer, a portable dvd, or a handbag.

Last summer we each were allowed 2 check on suitcases with 50 pounds each. We also allowed one carry on and they didn't check its weight. Good luck on your trip. Cheers
