i have a thirty gallon pressured tank. can I, should I replace it with one with a higher gallonage, for more storage and less on/off cycling of the pump??

Before you replace the tank make sure it's not waterlogged. This will cause excessive cycling.

These decisions all are based on your family needs and the future of usage/cost and how long you will live in your house. Do you use a large garden or whirlpool tub. If there are more than 3 people in the home, and your family is young and possibly growing or you have a large tub & you plan on staying in your home for 5 years or more.. I say replace to the next size up.
Then there is another school of thought. If you lived in a country like Zambia, you might have to send the females in your family 4 miles to bring back water in buckets... and would have never seen a storage tank.

I would in the long run it will save you money.Plus it will extend the life of your pump.especially if you have a family
