i listen to rock music.
i listen to it because its louder it have more fun things to listen to it and it has hot guys that sings and some that plays gutiar like avenged sevenfolds band and my chemical romance

I love avenged sevenfold too and other rock bands like that but i do also listen to rap. Depends on what I'm in the mood for. Rap is just fun to listen to sometimes as is rock. It reminds me of going dancing with my friends and having a good time.

Rap music isn't bad at all. I mean the ones now are totally shitty but the old school stuff are worth listening to. I totally agree with you about rock music having that edge to it. i love it thats why I listen to it now because their isn't anything great about rap music anymore. People like rap music because it did have the extra soul and streetlife meaning to it. Now we're hearing a continuous amount of bling bling and reenactments of classic music. If you ever change your mind or is a bit curious always, always go back to the old stuff first. So if you want to listen to rap music listen to the old school stuff. Than you'll find out why people listen to it.

OK well, I listen to all genres of music and I am an African American student in high school. To me everybody has their preference, and you have to learn how to respect that. To me they are both the same, just different beat and words. Bot one thing they do have in common is they talk about real things, such as things that affect them or things that they have been through, but don't get me wrong there are bad sides for both genres. Rock can be extremely loud and just obnoxious, Rap is getting to the point where they are saying "...Vans on, but they look like sneakers..." "Give me two pair, I need two pair..." come on what and the world do you really need to of the same pair of shoes. And if some shoe looks like sneakers, I think that everybody can see it for themselves we don't need a song about it... so that's my opinion. But me I'm a music person, I like classical, rap, hip hop, rock (especially Panic at The Disco), Punk, and Techno. But like I said everybody likes different genres of music, respect that!!!

Sorry hon, but the music you listen to isn't much better than rap. If you are going to listen to rock music listen to GOOD rock music.....i.e. The Rolling Stones, Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, Jimi Hendrix and so forth. Now that is good music.

totally agree with you but i dont like the bands u listed. I like bands like goldfinger, death cab for cutie, uh and bands like anti-flag. But y ppl like rap is something i truely dont get. All it is is ppl talking with music behind it, and they are complete idiots too. Mayb ppl listen too it because its easy and catchy(?)
