no i don't think it is intentally. I think that if your raised in a home with lots of love and you surround yourself with loves ones, then naturally your going to know how to love. But when a child has been mistreated and left all alone, it harder for them to love because they where never shown it. I'm not saying they couldn't learn it later, like with someone they meet, but again that is learning it unintentionally. So yes and no

The ability to love is taught at home, when the child is an infant.
When a parent shows affection to the child, and uses endearments. The child gets close to the parent. The child in turn will show the same affection to the parent. As the parent continually says " I LOVE YOU" to the child, and shows this love. The child will learn what love is, and what it is associated with. The child will never forget this kind act of love as they grow into adult hood. Thus they will show the same act of love to others.
If the child grows up in a abusive home, a home with lack of love and affection, the child will learn to act the same way.
Children are really like sponges. They absorb their surroundings.
So I guess you can say love is taught by example.

Steel is right love is taught at home and so is evil. We all fall into the family groups or we are tortured if we fail . Because god decides the genes some will fail in the family and become depressed even destroyed and society knows that. Cows dont fail they are always cows.

personally, i believe on the innate goodness of a person, and the ability to love is something that comes naturally, no questions asked =)

I dont think so. Can't teach anyone to love you, it just comes naturally.
