Ok, so I go through many mood changes. I can be extremely hyper one minute to where I can't sit still, and I'm shaking really bad and cannot quit laughing, and just act really stupid, and then pretty soon I get so down the it feels like I'm dead. I won't have any energy and then I'll just want to cry because of how I'm feeling and plus I get so frustrated because I don't know why I feel like I do. When I get in the depression mode I don't want to talk to anyone, except for maybe every now and then my best friend and my boyfriend. I get really irritable, and other times I just get down right violent. I bite people's heads off and a lot of the time, since I'm around my younger sister the most, I end up knocking her around. Sometimes these moods will change throughout the day and go back and forth, and other times I'll be in one mood majority of the time for a few days, sometimes longer, and then it will switch. Does anyone have any idea what might be causing this?

Bipolar may be a possibility, certainly more so than for the majority who turn up here thinking they're bipolar.
The telling parts are that your mood episodes last days or more, and that you seem to have anger/rage issues. You don't say how old you are and if you are in your teens, then it could just be hormonal (I know you didn't want to hear that old chestnut, but WTF...)
You should see your doctor, in th eforst instance, because Bipolar Disorder is deadly serious and not to be messed with.

It sounds like it's probably bipolar disorder that's causing your problems.
And, yes, the moods CAN cycle that fast.
EDIT: If you are a teen, don't let people blow you off and refuse to help you just because you are. It is NOT normal for teenagers to have that violent of mood-swings -- anyone who tells you it's just hormones and teen stress doesn't know what they're talking about. Sure, hormones CAN affect moods, but not THAT severely. It's not a "normal teenager thing" to be depressed one minute and in a rage the next.
People who are bipolar normally start showing the symptoms of it in their teens.

bipolar mood swings aren't so quick and usually last for an extended period of time rather than the short amount you are discussing.
are you a teenager? often times teenagers get really overwhelming feelings that they don't understand. mood swings are part of being a teenager.
however, if the really sad times last longer than 2 weeks and you feel suicidal or deep depression, then you really do need to seek help immediately. there is a difference between normal feelings of being a teenager/person and that of depression, anxiety & other mood-related disorders. you just have to know when its something that is out of the normal.

It is possible that you could be bipolar but I really couldn't say for sure. The best thing to do would be to see your family doctor about it. He knows more about your medical history and what your symptoms most likely relate to. Also keep in mind that this may be something that you want to get a couple different opinions on from different doctors. Before coming to any conclusion I would research any diagnosis they come up with and see if it really does match your description. Then when you are satisfied, seek whatever therapy you feel is best. I'm glad you found it in you to get help, and I'm sure your sister is too. Hang on to that desire to help yourself through whatever mood you may be in and you will get better. Good luck!

You may possibly have a mental disorder that you should seek medical attention for. You may need a medication to help balance out the neurotransmitters in your brain. You may try talking to a therapist that can evaluate you to determine if you do have a disability or if you may need to take some self esteem classes along with some anger management. There is help, regardless of what is causing you to have mood swings.

You could be bipolar. I have been diagnosed with depression and I too had mood swings, but not the extent that you are. I was placed on antidepressants and feel and act much better. I would suggest that you go see a doctor for a proper diagnosis.

Drugs? If no. Serotonin deficiency probably. Try taking 5-HTP. The one made by Natrol is good. It is a natural supplement and you can get it from any drugstore. Start with the 50mg tabs. Do this for two weeks and see if you level out. Email me if it works.

Meds are only temporary fixes and I don't believe they work long term. The main thing is we need to learn the art of controlling the mind and senses. We also need to understand who we are and our constitutional position as eternal spirit soul beyond this body and mind. The quickest and easiest way to control the mind is to chant the Maha Mantra (the Great Mantra for deliverance from suffering and illusion.
Hare Krishna Hare Krishna Krishna Krishna Hare Hare Hare Rama Hare Rama Rama Rama Hare Hare
if you like e-mail me for the website with complete details on the mantra. also go to stephen-knapp.c for More infor on who we are and our purpose in life. Read the book The Journey by Brandon Bays it will help anyone with all emotional problems.
