grr this is so hard not knowing what i am having i wish you could tell the second you got pregnant lol. everytime i see baby stuff i want to buy it. how far along do you have to be before you know. and is there ne thing you can buy for your baby before you know what it is???

You can usually find out between 18-20 weeks when your doctor orders an ultrasound. Before then you can buy white onesies and t shirts, neutral recieving blankets (in my opinion you can never have enough of these), you can buy toys, diapers, wipes, babyproofing supplies. My favorite baby item I have is one of the video baby monitors. They are great to be able to check on the baby when you hear a noise (or don't hear one) but even better for the fun of just being able to watch what your sweet little baby looks like while it's sleeping or what it does when it's waiting for you. Your doctor will probably schedule and ultrasound around week 18 to 22. I had mine at 19 weeks with all of mine. I know what you mean about wanting to buy stuff. I bought things like little White t shirts, and just a few neutral things for the baby, then as soon as I found out I was having my first girl, I started buying the girly stuff

You can buy everything before you know what it is. Just don't buy it in blue or pink. Buy green, yellow or other unisex colors. You can find out the sex after 16 weeks, but don't count on it. My son was uncooperative. He had his hand between his legs so the technician couldn't tell what he was. My daughter did the exact same thing too. Both pregnancies were pretty much the same too, so just go with the flow. Congrats.

you can do the blood testing as early as 5 weeks along! They don't talk to much about it because of people not getting what they wanted and then doing who knows what. but i was nuts about it too did fortune baby ans it was wrong! But also there is an ultrasouna clinic that has places all over they will tell you as early as 16 weeks and if they can't tell in visit one you can go back for free i found out at 17 weeks

Sure, you can buy tons of gender neutral things, bottles, bedding, furniture, carseat....etc. Most women find out at about 20 weeks and yes it is such a LONG wait!! Good luck

you can tell by a blood test the day after you have sex ..but on a home pregnancy test it takes about 3-4 weeks b.c your body has to produce a high hormone level to set it off.. and i bought all kinds of things for my baby..the whole nursery stuff and more ..im 15 weeks pregnant....i get to find out dec 22 what the sex is..good luck to u

Stock up on daipers, wipes, onsies/undershirts, bibs, blankets, infant bathtub, all the big items (crib, change table, carseat, stroller, exersaucer) toys, gender neutral sleepers, socks, there's lots of things you cen get without knowing the sex.
Number one should be the daipers of every size cause you are going to use TONS of them.

you can buy neutral color's yellow is a good one, white of course, light pastels are good for little newborns. And you can get a sonogram done in the 12th week of pregnancy (if I remember correctly) I never found out it was so much more exciting to wait and hear it when you deliver.
