just out of curiosity, who else here has a mohawk?

only my avatar has one now. i had one up until a few months ago, now i'm just growing my hair out.

Mohawk's have come and gone out of fashion for over 50 years! I am a fifty-something babyboomer and I recall when I was quite young some boys a bit younger than me with Mohawks. These boys had Mohawks because their parents did it to them. Then I didn't see Mohawks again untill the late seventies when Punk music became popular. Then it was the teens and early twentie somethings who made it a fashion statement. The Punks often colored their Mohawks.

The mullett came on the scene in the mid to late eighties as a variation on the Mohawk.

I never had either a Mohawk or mullett. By the time the Mohawk came onto the scene in the late seventies and early eighties, I was past adolesencent silliness.
