I have been in this field for a little over 8 years now. I have been having a little bit of bleeding with this pregnancy, I am 10 weeks along. My doctor examined me and said my cervix looks closed and feels firm, but he has scheduled an ultrasound for me to check the length of the cervix and also make sure baby is doing fine. My question pertains more to work, I have to do alot of lifting and transferring of clients, as they have cerebral palsy. One is much easier to help then the other and I have the go ahead to work with him as much as needed, but I do not want to make other employees feel as though I am shirking duty, however I also do not feel like informing every employee of what exactly is going on in my uterus. Any suggestions on how to handle that, or have you been in the same sort of situation? What did you do to sort of make up for the harder work that you were unable to do?

It is best u dont lift anything much at all....it could harm u.
Tell the others u are pregnant on light duty only.
There are work laws for pregnant women and u dont have to lift anything but your finger.
Forget the other employees, make them do the lifting, u are carrying precious cargo.

You need to request equipment and/or extra help for the lifting, whether you're pregnant or have a bad back, or no matter what the condition is. You shouldn'e tell other people about the bleeding, it's TMI.
