It doesn't sound like he was your everything if you were depressed even when you were around him. The best way to get over a guy is to let him go. Have one day where you cry and are depressed and eat cookie dough and let yoursself feel all the pain. He must not be your soul mate if he's treating you badly because your soul mate should never treat you badly. If you were constanly fighting, you weren't happy, and realtionships should make you happy. If sounds like you were simply codependant on this guy and you don't know what you're going to without him. It sounds like you need him and you need to realize that you don't. Hang out with your girl friends, reconnect with your family. Move on and stop sitting in your pity just because it's comfortable, you deserve to treat yourself better, and to find a person that will truly care for you.

When a relationship turns to constant fighting, when it is no longer fun, then your better off to move on.

Depression is painful and it can be very destructive not only to you but to others as well. I went through it bad a few years back and it wasn't till I accepted it as a part of me that I got better. When you wake up and feel depressed, dont harp on it and let it bring you further down. Except it as how you are feeling that day and get through it, then do the same thing the next day, take to steps to make your self feel good about you. Go out and do something for you! It helped me to force myself up out of bed and then go out and help someone else in need, a friend, a family member, it does alot for your self esteem. GOOD LUCK

You need to seek counseling of some sort. These feelings are very typical of depression. It can ruin your life if it goes untreated.

If it helps, I went through what you're going through after ending a 5 year relationship. With the help of a supportive doctor, some counseling and some medications for a while, I beat depression.

Good luck!
