80% of humanity, the religious folks, don't need to ask the meaning of life, the church tells them....the supernatural explanation. But the rest of us can't swallow religious dogma, because there's no evidence. Nobody can prove that there life after death, that people are tortured or rewarded after life or that there's invisible spirits running around.
I've come to two conclusions recently:
1. Life has no meaning
2. Life has a million meanings.
First, there's a certainty that death and annihilation awaits not only you, but the Earth in general. It's an astonomical certainty that our sun will supernova and leave the earth a burnt crisp, not to mention all the other extinction level events around the corner.
Second, the million things that give us meaning are the pleasurable experiences we can conjure up during the short period we are here on the earth, in the form of the relationships we have with our kids and other people, and the 'housekeeping' types of purposes. What i mean by that are the curing disease, ending hunger, improving literacy, reducing crime, preventing war, helping other kinds of things.
So the bottom line is, we only have a temporary meaning to life, to reduce pain and increase pleasure, other than that everything is lost to oblivion.

If you mean the meaning of life, then maybe I can answer that. The meaning of life is to enjoy yourself, work hard, and have fun while doing these things! That's just my philosophy. I'm young so I don't really know for sure. You were probably looking for a really educated answer and I'm not really educated! I'm 12, so there ya go, just my opinion. Good luck finding life's meaning!

What's the reason for your question? Confusion! This is the meaning for the confusion behind your questions. The meaning of life is confusing, but there is an answer. Even the guy above that says there is no answer to the question gave you a web page that provides people with answers. I don't see a point in searching for an answer for a question that has no answer.
Look, people may disagree, but steer clear from philosoy it's done nothing more than create more confusion for everybody and never provided anyone with ans answer, just more fuel to debate. Even logic, the method of impression on the hearts pf some many philosophers cant even tell you what the logic of logic is. Or, if there is any such thing. Is logic itself actually logical? It seems everything can be disproven to the philosopher, but at the same time there position can be prove. Where's the logic in that? Forget philosophy there nothing more than worries about increasing there own vocabulary and making themselves sound intellecutal whne have of them make no sense, or a sense any person can undertstand. They exist in a more sophistcated realm than we common folk down here in reality. Search within, and look around at your enviroment and ask yourself questions, I believe in God, and I believe in Jesus Christ, but look for yourself and let nobody look for you.

I think it's a good idea to consult those who know in your religion, I mean they have studied it and practiced according to the 'ways' as advised by its late/former sages so that you can apply in your daily life. I'm sure they should give you with practical advice regarding the meaning of life. Indeed, this question's been a favorite one since some two-three thousand years ago. There's no one specific answer since it depends on the asker's context as well.
