No, your actual level of intelligence cannot be increased. It is more like a threshold thing. What you can do is study and increase your knowledge. Knowledge is not intelligence, it is the use of intelligence to learn. If you don't read or execise your mind, then you will appear to be dumber than what you actually are. You need to just keep learning as much as you can as often as you can. But, you capacity to understand or analyze thought wont actually change.

first and foremost we must establish the fact that intelligence is not just a brain thing, as shown and proven by the maser experiment where atoms detected that it was being watched and upon that observation the atoms traveled out of the observers sight. intelligence is a factor of the mind and the mind is not the brain, the brain is the bridge that relays the messages from the mind to the body. show can we increase intelligence? emphatically yes! how? intelligence is expressed through consciousness and there are 5 levels or degrees of consciousness that can be expressed at different levels according to the level of melanin content. now, in the brain the neuronic connections that exist the more consciousness is born, and the more consciousness is raised the intelligent one becomes. now it is an actual fact that the more we learn, such as a new language, more neurons are formed. on a final note, intelligence isn't determined by the amount of neurons one holds, but neurons is determined by how much intelligence one uses, the mind is the sole controller of how much intelligence is displayed not the brain.

You only have the ability to understand within the limitations of your intelligence. You can learn and learn and learn, but you will never attain a higher intelligence than what you were born with. Your knowledge can increase exponentially, but not your intelligence. It isn't the same thing. Take a genius and a savant. One has both knowledge and intelligence and the other has only one. That is a poor example, but that's all I can think of at the moment. Must be my limitations acting up on me again.

I would have to answer no for the following reasons. I feel that Intelligence is related directly to ones IQ. Then comes wisdom which is a self taught enlightenment of reason and experience. Then you have the educated person who constantly yearns to further expand their knowledge. A wise person can be considered an expert due to their skill level and experience in a particular subject matter that they are very familiar with. Educated people know what they study and learn only. INtelligent people have a wide range of knowledge in numerous fields and can easily grasp concepts that are seemingly more difficult for the average joe to establish. So no, one cannot become more intelligent, just wiser and more educated in my personal opinion.

Yes According to the Vedic literature which means Knowledge. If one drinks hot milk it nourishes the brain and helps one sleep well at night if taken in the evening. But on a deeper level if one chants the Maha Mantra (the Great Mantra for deliverance from illusion and suffering) they will attain the highest intelligence beyond material intelligence. Spiritual intelligence is most important because it is the way out of illusion which is ignorance. Read Bhagavad-Gita As it is By Bhaktivedanta Prabhupada for the essence of all spiritual knowledge which will help one in every way in life. If you like e-mail me for the website on the mantra meditation.

Everyone seems to think intelligence is " set in stone "; not true. It is on a continuum, like any human trait, so it can vary through out life. it can be increased, though, I do not think you and I would agree on the possibility of the amount of change. You need to think conservatively here.

That's incorrect. Individual brains only have a certain capacity, which there is no way to increase. You might try to get as close to capacity, but there is no way to exceed it. It's all about the brain wiring and connections formed between neurons when growing in utero and as a baby.

Intelligence cannot be increased, there is a certain amount that can be reached. However, wisdom DOES increase. Two completely different things.

Ofcourse, if not then why would we have schools and colleges. Unless you think that things taught don't increase your intelligence, but that's crazy.

well obviously it does, it comes with experience. intelligence don't necessarly means you know everything, it just could mea you know how to read and write, interpret things for what they are...i dont know, but as you get older you tend to become more intelligent, your "inteliigence capacity" increases? lol

Yeah!

Think about it.

When you were in preschool, you talked like this, "Me want gaga!"

When you were in middle school you talked like this, "Like, yeah, he's so noticeable." Your vocabulary has gotten better, but you still don't talk really smoothly.

You graduate from collage. You talk like this, "He had immersed his proboscis into the book."

This is just one example of how you grow wiser as you go through school. But education, books, smart people, etc. can all help you go from stupid to smart!
