doctors don't get paid by the hour so its hard to say. and it also depends on what kind of doctor they are.

more specialized the practice, the more they make.

for example, if you go see a general doctor for a check up or initial diagnosis, your bill will probably be around $100. and you probably see the doctor for 10 mins and rest in handled by the nurse.

but if you goto a radiologist for specific x-rays. that might cost you or your insurance company $1000. and even then, the doctor only comes in for a few minutes to explain the x-rays.

or a surgeon might charge you $30,000 for a couple hours of surgery.

Not every doctor is paid the same, even in the same area of specialization. If you are talking about office visits, then you will need to know what is charged to each patient and see how many patients they can see, on average, in an hour. People work at various rates. They can also charge different rates for the same work or specialty. If a doctor charges $40 for each patient seen and sees a patient every 10 minutes, then they will make $240 an hour. Now that is not net money. He has office expense, nurses, receptionists and other personnel. He has malpractice insurance, which is extremely expensive. However, he may generate additional revenue by doing lab tests in his office and have other means of generating additional income. The more specialized a doctor becomes, the more revenue he will generate. There are too many variables to give an accurate answer.

Depending on his field of expertees. An Intern gets between £28000 to £35000 a year, if they become a Registrar or Consultant then the money can be between £54000 to £138000 a year that does not include the private sector. Doctors are only permitted to work 58 hour working week anything over that is still the same pay unless they are kept on emergency and that has to be held accountable.

I have been a nurse for 31 years and I have never known a doctor to be payed by the hour. Doctors are salaried if they are not in a privet practice. If they are in a privet practice how much they make can be based how many patients they see and the services rendered.

Depends. Early on, not very much. I have a friend who when he was doing his residency, was getting paid less per hour than he would have had he been working at McDonalds. Some work simply incredible hours.

Once they are finished their training though, it's a fairly lucrative career. Heart surgeons and other specialists make a great deal of money.
