every now and then,my computer emits a beep and hangs up.now the beep isnt a normal one(the one u get while computer boots).but like the one u get while u cut the power of the cpu.i think its a power problem.how can i stop it?

It an overheating warning. You need to clean the dust from your CPU cooler. Your PC shuts down to prevent damage. You can get a can of compressed air to help blow out the dust and you should also use a small fine brush. Avoid making the fan spin with the compressed air. Take care while inside your PC from static shock to board components by earthing yourself to the case frequently or using an antistatic wrist strap. Unplug the PC from the mains to prevent electrocution. Hope this helps, Good luck!

replace the power supply

and it is normal for your computer to beep 1 time because it goes through a POST (power on safe test) before it enters the bios and then boots to the system

Is it longer beeps?? Occuring after fix interval?? If so, check your RAM, most of the time putting it off, cleaning it a bit and put it back works. Try your luck with it too..

Power off
Open your PC Cabinet,
find it RAM Slot
Take out the RAM Card and fit properly to slot.
now on your computer
maximum the problem cleared.

hi varun, may i know when it beeps? i mean while booting or after startup, if while in booting it gives u two continuous beeps then it may be a prblem of ur RAM.

1.did u attached any pci display card if so pls check
2.if your computer is powered through ups or not, if through ups means, unplug and give power directly and check is that problem repeats again, if repeats check your SMPS

there can be tow problems , its either ur power supply fault or ur sytems get over heated beause of the applicatin that u r using r too complex for ur processor
