Something I always found interesting would be something similar to Myth Busters. Perhaps find a myth or an old wives tale that you would like to disprove. That could be not only practical, but interesting as well.

They took different manufacturers and popped them for a different volume of time. Then they counted what number kernels popped. Then they did subject concerns like attempt to be certain why some popped extra desirable clever then others. those styles of subject concerns. They have been given right here in 2nd out of a few hundred seventh graders.

Your topic could be "Are dogs colorblind?"

I got an A when I did it in 7th grade. =D

You can bring diagrams of how their eyes are and how they compare to the eyes of animals that can see. If you have a dog, you can do various tests (make the dog choose between two things) to see if colors play any role in what they choose.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Astronomy

make a model of out s.s.(solar system) and write cards(posters are a tad better) and explain whatever you do as well

i never entered a sci fair, so i have hardly any idea what youre supposed to do

But astronomy is an interesting topic.....
