I love country, don't get me wrong, but lips of an angel, by Hinder, has ALREADY been remade by a country guy. if its been a few years since the release of a song i dont mind as much, but hearing it tonight just ruined it for me. so i guess my question is, why do country artists always remake songs?

I Know what you mean, I am huge fan of the Tom Cochran song "Life Is a Highway" but ever since I heard the country remake....well lets just say the country version ruined my love for the song. I think country people, because they usually dont write their own songs, they have song writers do it for them, so their just looking for the next big hit, and remaking songs is a sure fire way to do that.

Some remake for money$$, some remake cause it influenced them once upon a time & some remake just to get there names connected to a recognized tune for publicity, & some are talentless and cant write a good song to save their lives
I personally LOVED the remake Johnny Cash did of NIN's Hurt, loved it! I love the original too.

not all country artist remake songs, Rascal Flatts and Taylor Swift write most their own songs

because so many artists before them have done it and made boatloads of cash doing it so they figure what the hell I will be a mindless drone and cover someone elses song because none of the ones I write will be a hit and this one already rocks.

because they hear a song they like and their "no way i love it lets do it!" and so the remake it because they like it

Because they need to look outside of their genre for topics that don't only relate to bars, drinking, & breakups.
