It will be too much the moment she becomes overweight and that's at 150 pounds (BMI 25). However, even though the BMI for normal weight ranges from 18.5 to 24.9, the recommended value ranges from 20 to 22, so a 5'5'' girl should try to keep her weight below 135 pounds.
And as far as waist size goes, saying a woman should have a 32'' waist isn't correct. What's relevant is the waist-hip ratio. A woman should have a waist-hip ratio of 0.8 or lower (0.95 or lower for men). A woman with 34'' hips and 32'' waist would have a waist-hip ratio of 0.94 which is very unhealthy.

There is actually a medical formula to calculate ideal body weight. For men- 106 + 6 for each inch in height over 60.
So if a man is 5'5 you would take 106 + 30 = 136 lbs would be considered ideal.
Woman- 105 + 5 lbs for every inch in height over 60.
So 105 + 25 = 130 lbs would be considered ideal.
So I suppose that medially, anything over those two would be considered a little fluffy. I think its crap though and I would say anything over 160 pounds is probably a little much for someone who is 5'5....although proportions do make a difference....

It depends on how you are built and if your weight is mostly muscle or fat. Muscle is denser than fat therfore if you are very muscular that could be why you weigh alot. On the other hand if its all fat than you should start exersising and eating healthy dont go on any yo-yo dieting methods because that just leads to more of a weight gain. I would say over 140 pounds is alot for somebody 5'5 but like i said it depends on your build.

It relies upon on better then hieght different elements that are protected in this are age sex and bone mass. Like me Im 5feet 4 inches and weigh 195 pounds yet i'm massive boned so i do not look that undesirable. i look about i'll lose 10 15 pounds mebe. MY suggestion bypass see a docter or nuetritionist about this they could grant you with a precise answer. no human being in this web site can grant you with a perfect answer until eventually they're a qualified docter or nutritionist. the reason I cant grant you with a answer is because i do not recognize your bone length. that is something your going to might want to visit a record for. wish this helped truly Meg.

A woman of 5'5" could weigh anything from 115 lbs to 155 lbs and still be healthy. "Big" is a subjective term. Your health is comprised of many more factors than just what the scale tells you -- your physical fitness, your body mass (BMI), your blood pressure, cholesterol level.

Aside from the health indicators, how you feel in your own body is what's important, not what other people think about it. Do you like your body? Do you like the way clothes fit you? Are you comfortable with it? If you've answered no, then maybe look into increasing your physical activity and becoming more active. But do it for your own happiness and health, not because you're worried about what other people think about your body/size.

It's not the weight, it's your waist! Women should have a waistline of 32 inches to be healthy! Check out "You on a Diet" by Dr. Oz (from the Oprah show)

Over 150lb, but it depends on lots of factors. I'm more inclined to say if she had over 32% body fat or more than a 32 inch waist, that she would be a bit too big. HTH : )
