If you want to permanently erase it from your hard drive, you must first find it then delete it, once you delete it, go to your recycle bin and delete it from there. However, it still isn't deleted fully. You must now delete another file and then delete it from your recycle bin. NOW, the text file you wanted to delete is now deleted from your hard drive.

[If you just delete it once from your recycle bin, there are ways to retrieve it again, this process is used for security reasons]

Your hard drive not only stores your word files, but it also stores what makes a computer turn on (microsoft windows).

If you erase your hard drive, your computer will not even start. It really is a stupid hunk of metal and plastic. It needs the operating system on the hard drive to even run.

Norton has erasing programs that perminantly erase items by copying over the file up to seven times.

One freeware program was called "black hole", did the same thing.

Yes. To access your hard drive, click on My Computer, which is on your desktop and/or in the start menu.

Everything you save goes on your hard drive. Just simply find what you saved it as and delete it.
