Well the preppy one will definitely like stuff from Victoria's Secret...I know it will be more than $20 (It's $25) for 5 pairs of really cute underwear...or maybe even a few fragrances...I think that you can buy 3 fragrances for $21. Also, Bath and Body Works is a good place to go for body stuff too. If she is into computer games, you can always check that out. If she likes jewelry, Marshall Fields or Nordstrom is the best place to go because they always have real silver for about $20 (such as a bracelet and 2 earrings...for just $20)
For the gothic one, anything from hot topic will probably do. You can get a lot of things, like a set of a few black bracelets (even a leather black thong as a joke), earrings, etc. If she is into computer games too, check out a CompUSA type store. If she likes a certain fragrance, be sure to ask, and if it's too expensive, get one that smells like it from either Victoria's Secret, Hot Topic (I don't actually know if they have that stuff there), or Bath and Body Works. And if she really likes her room, get her something cute like a pillow or something.

well I'm not 16 yet but i am a teenage girl... and lemme tell ya... makeup is something cheap and always something they would love! Or jeans, you would have to observe them to see what kind of jeans they like- what ever you do- do NOT get second hand clothing !!!!! it may be cheap- but new is better- it DOES make a difference trust me! Ross has some cuties for cheap!!! picture frames are also good ideas! like the cute ceramic kind also from Ross or the kinds from hot topic. oh and add in a nice picture ;] ... lets see... oh yes, blankets- like the fleece kind... they have em at hot topic and price busters, Wal-Mart, Ross, etc. and if it comes down to last minute- you not knowing what to get, gift cards are 1000000% guaranteed something they would like... after all, its them choosing what they want!! i would get the hot topic girl a hot topic gift card and the others Wal-Mart or Ross or jamba juice or Starbucks or get them movie tickets... or lastly, you can take them out to a manicure or pedicure or take them to the movies or to Starbucks!!

You can buy a nice piece of jewelry regardless of their "status." If they are Christians, then a small cross stud earring or even one that dangles. Xmas earrings like a tree, or Santa, or snowman are always cute. And remember to top the present with a cute tree ornament they can use.

a now 23 cd would be good! its like.. 15$$ at walmart. for the hot topic. but the preppy...... hair stuff or makup or nail polish

Under $20.00? Easy. Go to Wal-mart, K-Mart, or Target to their gift set section and look for aromatherapy sets, hair fashion kits, bath oil sets, make-up kits, nail fashion sets, make-up/storage bag clusters, professional hair dryers, muscle massagers, manicure kits, or those new fashion chunky-crocheted neckscarves with hats and gloves to match.
