Add 115 and 110 together (225). Take this number and subrtact it from [179 multiplied by 9]. Then take that number and divide it by seven.

You should get 198 pounds for all 7 men.

Multiply 179 by the total number of people, 9. Then subtract the weight of each woman. That should leave you with the total weight of the men. Divide that number by the number of men in the elevator and you should have your answer.

(115 + 110 + 7x) / 9 = 179

(115 + 110 + 7x) = 179*9 = 1611

7x = 1611 - 115 - 110

7x = 1386

x = 1386/7 = 198

198 lbs., answer

that isn't as confusing as you are able to think of study it slowly and it particularly is hassle-free to understand. assume those are your scores would be expressed as probabilities (or as factors) assessments 80% ( 2000 factors quizzes 70% ( 3500 factors homework fifty 5% ( 4000 factors participation sixty 5% ( one thousand factors in case you utilize factors to degree your grades then the weighted normally happening is calculated: 2000 pts * 50% = one thousand weighted pts for assessments 3500 pts * 20% = seven hundred weighted pts for quizzes 4000 pts * 20% = 800 one thousand pts * 10% = a hundred So the entire of all weighted factors is one thousand + seven hundred + 800 + a hundred = your factors score for all factors is two,500 factors (after weighting) ======================================... although in case your grades are expressed as probabilities (eg in case you acquire 80% for assessments then this would mean in the above occasion which you have scored 2000 factors out of a achieveable optimal of 2500 factors) then you definitely calculate the normally happening weight like this: 80% * 50% = 40% (for assessments) after being weighted 70% * 20% = 14% (for quizzes after being weighted fifty 5% * 20% = 11% sixty 5% * 10% = 6.5% So your weighted normally happening proportion for all 4 factors is 40 + 14 + 11 + 6.5 ie seventy one.5% as an overall grade
