My dog went to the groomers and they kinda sorta cut one of her nipples off! What should I do?

Ya its ok but MY dog lost a nipple people!!! Not yours. And even if it didn't hurt her how is she suppose to have puppies if she has only 3 nipples now. GOSH!!

Do you know how many times nipples are nicked and bleed when shaving dogs and cats for a spay???????? It happens ALL the time!!!!
How is she down to THREE nipples??????????? And sorry, but chances are she SHOULD NOT have puppies!!!!! I doubt she is an "above average" example of her breed.

I doubt very seriously your dog's nipple was completely severed from the body, I can't think of a pair of clippers that could actually do such a thing... chances are it just got nicked, it happens a lot.
Before you go sueing and screaming about something that is essentially harmless and very common, think about how much it sucks to be the dog groomer. The groomer spends an hour or two (depending on how badly the haircoat has been neglected by the owner) trying to hold a dog still so they can shave it while the dog is trying to eat their face off, for an hourly wage equivalent to a dinner for two at McDonalds. Then you come along and refuse to pay for the haircut, because one of Fluffy's many nipples has a tiny cut that will now take a horrific 10 days to heal.
P.S. your dog should have 8 nipples, and even if one is gone now, it has absolutely nothing to do with whether your dog can have puppies or not. If you are going to be breeding your dog you should have a little bit more knowledge about them.

this happens quite frequently actually - probably just knicked it rather than cut it right off.. the dog should visit the vet and the groomer should pay for the cost of the visit.
nothing more needs to be done - do not hold it against the groomer - some dogs have larger nipples, especially if they have had pups.

It should be ok . I am a groomer and it has happened to me before and the dog was fine.

take her to the vet, take a picture before you do, call the groomer and let them know what they did right away. At very least ask for your money back, and if they did do it, they should pay the vet bill.

I would go to the vet and ask if this will effect her pregnanancy or future pregnancys. I would also complain to groomer or stop going to them. I think that sueing them would get to complicated.
