Before I went on a two weeks vacation, I was swimming 5 days a week and 1hr each. Since the return, I now only swim 2 days a week, and I can't even swim for more than 30 mins. I feel like dying. I can't kick and am losing my strokes. What's wrongggg??

Not sure. Is you're job in anyway connected with the muscles you use in swimming? Little things you might not realize like reaching?

Jet lag? Too much partying? Even though that can sure be fun on vacation. It could dehydrate you, might be as simple as putting water and electrolytes back.

There can be stress in coming back from a vacation. Just when you get used to it, it's over. The people you met may be gone. Got some numbers, you could reconnect.

Getting back to the grind can be stressful sometimes.

your body just got lazy. I am pretty sure sure there was a change in your routine, schedules, workouts, diet, sleeping habits, and many other things, including the mentality you have for/during workouts.

I used to build, so I know what you are feeling. When you go on vacation, you should still try to keep that routine, or something equivalent. Just try, and try hard! you will regain your momentum, just don't get discouraged and quit like so many do. I had so stop because I blew out my shoulder, but you don't have to.

Take it one day at a time, don't over do it. remember, your workout is cardio as your doing it, but the muscles healing are the key to the strong muscles, and swimming certainly applies to that same standard, your just not going for bulk as I was.

Day by day my friend.

Your main problem is that you're probably losing your feel for the water. It goes away really fast, like in three days. Also, your not working to get it back. If you go back to working out like you used to, or more, you can probably get back your feel for the water in a few weeks.

G'day ITGuru5354,

Thank you for your question.

Is it a physical thing? If it is your should see a doctor about why there is a sudden decline in your fitness.

Alternatively, you should see a swimming coach if it is a loss of technique.

Hope you are churning through the laps soon.

Regards

Either it's a lack of will now or need to know what happened on vacation

Your body got off track. Slowly increase your excercise in something else besides swimming and as you increase your excercise elsewhere it should get easier on you.
