How much does it cost for a major car manufacturer such as GM to build a car?

Question

If you can, (tell me how much the major components of the car themselves cost sepratly ) <------ thats what i need to know. I would prefer the price of the peices of a luxury car but other types are acceptible. For example, i don't really know (thats why iam asking) , the steel frame costs 5 grand, the leather costs 500, the engine costs 2 grand, etc. I really don't know how you find this out but it would help ALOT.

The rule of thumb is divide by five, example the car is sold to the dealer for 10,000 then the cost would be 2,000 to make. The dealer will always mark the vehicle up 100% and give you a discount if your willing to bargain. So a 20,000 vehicle is cut in half and then divide by five. In other words what ever it cost to make the number is times five to sell it to the dealership and then they double the cost to the consumer. The factory and the dealer don't loose.

scrap cars are bought by the pound lets say .10 a pound. so then most manufactories sell wholesale by volume or by the pound. General motors usually wholesale at 1.30 per pound, so then a 3000lb car would average 3900.00 dollars.depending on the fluctuation of metal prices. and they sell these by the millions. so that's like 1300 percent from scrap metal prices. now we haven't even begun talking about dealers cost

No one in their right mind will buy cars made by the government, who BTW knows nothing about building cars or running a corporation for that matter. I told you the global warming hoax would cost us money, and it has only just begin. ~

The rule of thumb don't make sense. A dealers cost is the best kept secret in the world. You could find out who is going to win the 2007 world series easier. I knew a person that was lucky enough to have a wife that was the secretary for a vice pres. at general motors. They wanted a new buick and she sneaked the file on the car they wanted . I gyess it had the cost of every item on the car. They had a ball with the dealer, for every price he stated they had an answer. Wound up with a real deal. Never would tell me nothin'
