x * log(1/8) = log(606)

x = log(606)/log(1/8)

x = -3.081

log both sides
lg (1/8)^x=lg 606
x lg (1/8)= lg 606
x= lg 606/ lg (1/8)

use that wonderful machine of yours, the calculator. and u get

ln( (1/8)^x) = ln(606)
x * (-2.07944) = 6.40688
x = -3.08106
